Paul Joyce reviving the Keane to Everton story post-Lindelof to United:

--

Manchester United will complete the £30.7 million signing of Victor Lindelof this week, a transfer that will end José Mourinho’s interest in Michael Keane, the Burnley centre back, who now could be destined for Everton.

Ronald Koeman, the Everton manager, was understood to have placed the Uruguayan defender Mauricio Lemos, of Las Palmas, at the top of his defensive wanted list this summer because he thought that Keane would be heading to Old Trafford. However, United have agreed a fee with Benfica for Lindelof, who had been Mourinho’s first-choice target throughout 2017.

Everton are now expected to pursue Keane and are also hoping for a positive answer today from Sandro Ramirez, the Spanish striker who is available for a cut price £5.2million from Malaga because of a release clause in his contract.

United attempted to sign Lindelof in January but the Portuguese champions wanted £50 million. Benfica have chosen to lower their demands, though, agreeing an initial fee of £30.7 million with a potential £8.8 million to come from incentivised clauses.

Interesting comparisons with Jags. The thing is, Jags was picked up relatively cheaply as he wasn't courted by big clubs, unlike Keane who is going to be very expensive. With Walsh on board, I was hoping for more Jags style signings and fewer Bolasie style signings.

Thing is mate the fees for jags and lescott would probably be around 20m now as well, back then no one besides 4-5 teams had serious money hence why those second tier players could be picked up without much competition.

Maybe Jose, like myself, still has visions of Lukaku monstering Keane for his goal at Goodison and moved on?

And we are moving Lukaku on and getting Keane?

Is he all that?

His first choice was United. We're not his first choice so let's fk him off!!! We only want players that want to be here and play for the shirt!!!!

When he is in the mood defenders bounce off him no matter how good they are, remember the fa cup quarter final against Chelsea. Unreal goal. Doesn't mean Keane isn't good because he lost a battle against Rom.
