Dont know his situation mentally (If its an illness he should be taken out of the mess right away), however if its just down to him being mentally weak, he played for Burnley fighting relegation, promotions in the championship which isn't easy to get out of...

How is it possible he is this badly mentally weak? he looks like if you said the wrong thing to him he would burst out crying...

Honestly looks like pub defender right now... regardless of a blip of a good performance in the week.

our only defender who dribbles with the ball and tries to play forwards. Surrounded by dross and under an awful manager for building confidence.

He has done none of this though.

He ducks out of challenges, never puts a tackle in and hides from the ball.

I am sure there is a player in there somewhere but he has been awful and 3 separate managers so far.

Not ready to give up on him just yet but so far he has been an utter abomination.

Ben Mee.

The answer to everything Keane related is Ben Mee.

I may not be football related. There are many things that can cause depression. Family, finances, addictions, sexual preference, abuse, playing for Everton....

Press reports today that Everton want shut and are willing to accept a massive loss on him in order to do it.

Doesn’t seem to have the heart for it unfortunately.

I heard from a very reliable source, that the cut he got was never properly healed and that he was having injections so he could play. He knew he was chickening out of challenges, because he was afraid of worse injury. The crowd could see he was not performing correctly and started to get on his back, which then led to depressive moments.

Allardyce dropped him so he could first recover from injury and get some mental health assistance.

Apart from the arsenal game he is certainly improving.

If true, allardyce has gained some grudging respect from me and this lad should be given a chance to shine.

Fairly confident we have a good defender in there. Just play him regular in a settled back line. Every new player has been a scapegoat at some point this this season- but a few have been able to be played a hell of a lot more, and came through it- See Rooney, Sigurdsson.

Mental health is a very important issue and I sympathise for the lad if he has been suffering.

Must be something more to it though as most football players can handle a bit of stick especially if they aren’t playing well.
