2017/18 Michael Keane

Earlier in the season we were all talking him up, he looked like a really good buy. So there's definitely a player there. And we desperately need to find that Michael Keane again. Because who else have we got to rely on next season ? Williams surelytogod will be gone by then. Jags it seems isn't trusted to play twice in 4 days. Mori was getting plenty of stick before he got injured. And Mangala will no longer be around (no option to buy). So Keane and Holgate will be an important part of any future set-up.

It's not about how many defensive players you have, it's how much space they allow. Burnley allowed very little space as they have a manager who is a specialist in defending. They were compact, tight, a unit. The lack of space Burnley afforded to the opposition covered up the fact Keane cannot move. Over five to ten yards he is hopeless (not much better over longer distances either). Forwards skin him over short bursts. I've not seen a player get so easily turned and left for dead like him for years.
“A specialist in defending”....isn’t that on the Fat Ones CV?

Looks he plays stoned. Have not been impressed with him at all. Looks 1 paced. Flatfooted. Non aggressive. Lacks confidence. Not impressed at all. Did i say he plays like he is totally bonged out of it.

Praise him vs Leicester, [Poor language removed] him off vs Arsenal.

Can we make up our minds please people.
He’s a good player who will benefit from having a competent manager and a settled system to play in. The complete opposite of the horror show we’ve currently got going on.

Phew.

I'm happy that Williams and Jagielka will not be playing for us next season (surely).

Mangala gone and that leaves us with Holgate, Keane, Mori and hopefully one new CB. Between them we should be able to find a decent partnership.

Get a left back sorted and that's hopefully a solid defence for the next few years, and then when Coleman's legs go Kenny should hopefully be ready.

First though, give Seamus that armband and let him show the team what a real captain acts like.

Knowing our luck though Baines will be shoehorned in every game, and Williams will not only stay, but still be sporting the armband and pulling his shirt over his head after every inept performance.
