To be fair to Koeman he spent the last month of the transfer window asking for a left sided defender.

Nothing to do with the players around him, mate. The lad is a complete mess at the moment. He could have Maldini and Nesta alongside him but those individual errors we saw on Saturday wouldn't go away.

I'm not writing him off by any means but he's really struggled to make the step up.

He started off really well, so I believe it is a confidence issue more than anything else. We won't really know until the situation is stable and our form picks up.

Yeah, he did look bereft of confidence on Saturday. It's a horrible situation for the lad to be in because he can't be eased into the team due to the fact our other two centre halves are the biggest donkeys in the league.

If Keane doesn't find form then I don't think we will as a team.

He’s not what I call an athletic footballer, he looks ponderous and slow on the turn. He might get away with that if there was athleticism around him but it’s sadly lacking in our team.

Yep lack of athleticism was a key requirement if you wanted to be signed by Everton in the summer lol
 
Hope RFM comes back sound, then Keane and Funes Mori as a partnership should do us til the end of the season, when we should go and splash on a left footed centre half.

I could be greatly mistaken, but I think RFM was/is expected to miss more or less the entire season
 
He looks so shaky at the moment. He knows the team is under a lot of pressure and it's getting to him. Couple of times on Saturday he just seemed to turn off.

We need to pair him with a big, commanding unit and an experienced one. Not old, obviously, I'm just talking in terms of big league experience. Koulibaly would've been a good shout.
