Getting back to Keane. He's having a torrid time at the moment as his confidence has gone. I expect him to get it back though and reckon he'll be good for us with the right player alongside him. Still only 24 and has shown enough to me to prove he can cut it at this level.

He's not though is he. He isn't the quickest but neither is he a slouch either. I'd be happier if he had a real pacy defender alongside like but Keane's pace is not the biggest concern with our defence.

...looked decent in pre-season and early competitive games but appears very fragile at the moment. I think his problems started when we went with a back 3, he looked really exposed on the right side. His strength is in the air, never sure why he wasn’t always the central defender.
He’s not what I call an athletic footballer, he looks ponderous and slow on the turn. He might get away with that if there was athleticism around him but it’s sadly lacking in our team.

Always goes back to when everyone banged on about how great a defender he is...and totally forgetting than him and Ben Mee were a solid partnership together which probably made him look better.
As you can see, Mee has a new partner in Tarkowski and Burnley keep clean sheets for fun.
Personally think he's okay but really needs a better centre back partner.
But I was more impressed with Harry Maguire than him last season.

I think he is suffering because he doesn't have a partner beside him he can trust. But then I think our midfield would be much improved if they had confidence in the defence.
We can't ignore the fact that we can't stop teams scoring against us and, although we have improved, we can't score.

Played very well and looked decent alongside mee last season. Maybe when has he has settled defensive partner to play alongside, that also has some pace, he will rediscover his form and confidence of last season.

He is literally the perfect example of why CB should be our first priority and should have been our first priority before worrying about signing Sigurdsson. With someone athletic and Coleman in the side, he would just do fine. I mean seriously, gotta feel a bit bad for him, at one point his line included Baines, TubbyW and Martina.......!
