A three year old Syrian boy was found drowned on a beach in Bodrum, Turkey today. His five year old brother is missing believed drowned also. I didn't post the still photographs of the little boy as its just too upsetting. I won't lie, I wept when I saw it on the news. The image is burnt into my brain and this can't go on.

Can we please have a sensible discussion about this, without bringing in race or the British benefit system as there are plenty of other European countries who are taking more migrants than the UK.

Surerly if we work with the rest of Europe we can help these people ?.

Just seen that picture on Twitter, heartbreaking.

In other news, 2 pages.

It's horrible that whilst I care, the image didn't really move me.

Used to this kind of stuff now.

Oh but never mind, the little Englanders don't want to lend a hand in case they have to walk past more foreigners in the supermarket.

I had to turn the channel over on seeing it. But what's to be done? We can't save them all so the best thing to do would be tackle the cause of this migration at source. However the cause of this is ISIS and to defeat them would mean another long war in the Middle East, something the Western world isn't prepared to put up with.

That picture did for me, my little girl is about the same age. My wife and me were both in bits.

I'm going to donate as much as I can tomorrow. These people need our help. Can you imagine that kid's parents telling him to be brave as they got on the boat, as they try to hide their own fear. Telling him they're going on an adventure and it'll be ok?

Our government's response has been shameful. Cameron today: "We'll help by bringing peace to the middle east"? Stop selling weapons to the region and actively working to destabilise it then!

I'm aware it's all very upsetting, but is Turkey not a refuge from War?

Not under Erdogan, they have been busily pissing in Assad's chips for years now and are right at this moment persecuting one of their own minorities rather than go after some of the very vilest beings in existence.

As for the wider crisis, welcoming these refugees without preconditions is the human thing to do (well no, the human thing to do would be to kill all the males and take the women for ourselves) but it is perhaps not the right thing to do. The problems in Syria, Eritrea and sub-Saharan Africa have to be sorted or this will not stop and we will end up denuding those parts of the world of any hope of recovery for the next few generations.

The hard truth is Iraq was better off under Saddam, Syria was better off under Assad and Libya was better off under Gaddafi. As long as you minded your p's and q's and didn't upset the apple cart you were fine.

Cameron and Blair really did f these poor souls up good and proper. Goodness knows how bad it would have gotten had Cameron's moronic idea to bomb Assad come to fruition.

As for the refugee crisis, I have two words :

Refugees Welcome.
