Migrant Crisis

We have a long history of refugees fleeing persecution : Hugenots, Russian Jews, Germans,Hungarians, Poles,Ugandan Asians too name a few.

To see mealy mouthed Cameron on the news tonight sputtering that we have accepted genuine Syrian refugees, and then immediately spouting inanities about solving the problems causing the the crisis.

He really is a vacuous little man whose ideology, if you can call it that, has a dearth of ideas ; and due to its dogma is incapable or unwilling of planning and reacting to fast moving foreign events - unless it involves military action.

Expect little from a Party that had William Hague as Foreign Secretary.

Oh deary, deary me.

BBC news ... shows the cynical actions of German politicians

Like i said. Germany has a need arguably economically.

That point does not apply to the UK already straining with too high a population growth.

And they are being welcomed with open arms - by the government at least - because Germany has a significant skills gap, and a worryingly low birth rate.

"Immigrants are on average younger and the German population is on average older, so immigrants are welcome," says Dr Ingrid Tucci, from the German Institute for Economic Research.

"It's important to attract students and highly qualified people. So the government is making it easier for them, trying to invest and put a culture of welcome in place."

Germany is not far behind the Uk in population density 593 to the UK's 660. But it sees no problem allowing people in, even though some Germans are against the increase in immigrant numbers. But this has not put off the government or German citizens from helping those in need.

The UK has allowed people into the country in great numbers during a crisis e.g Asians in Uganda and were preparing to virtually let the whole of Hong Kong come to Northern Ireland.

When you see the rest of Europe, particularly Germany and Iceland being so open to the prospect I think it makes you think about it more. Clearly in the UK there is a stigmata towards immigrants in certain parts. I'm not going to get into whether it's justifiable or not. The fact of the matter is that these people are living in a warzone, in areas where they are or a member of their family is certain to die in if they don't move. Then the problem lies in immigrating and the dangers that come with that.

Who are we to turn people away? They want the same life as the rest of us but just haven't been as fortunate in where they're born.

Iceland isn't part of Europe and doesn't really (and will not) have to deal with the problem on anything like the scale that the EU countries do. The political class in Germany is being open but the rise of Pegida and whatnot do suggest that there are a growing number of people who do not want further massive immigration, and if those people are ignored then things will get worse.

Also Dan Hannan is a Tory bellend, but he did make a reasonable point the other day that this is yet another EU agreed policy area (to go with economic stabilization, and the currency) where it has utterly failed the first time it was faced with any sort of crisis. Perhaps we should not be surprised that a nation founded by other nations, who retain their own interests, and staff it with their own second, third and fourth teams of national politics, is completely useless. It needs to be sorted out.

The UK population growth dwarves Germany's which was actually declining.

That's the point

Surely we should act first and worry about that later? Public opinion is important, but if the EU is prepared to show some leadership, public opinion will turn.
If we said we're taking in anyone from Syria no questions asked then every migrant would claim to be from there. How do we seperate the needy from the economic migrants?

And population density is nearly the same. While there is pontification in the UK from the government and some citizens, some people are prepared to act and give refuge to those in need. And how does it go in the film Brassed off, 'if it was ....treated like the miners there would be an outcry'.

Sometimes people bring a warmth with their kindness when there is a heart breaking situation. They do not hid behind the 'statistics' that say, 'oh look at this graph and this waffle, waffle, waffle, ....so nothing can be done'. Good on those citizens who help people in need.

Is the UK supposed to open its doors to the entire populations of Africa. Asia and the Middle East?

There's a significant difference between encouraging the migration of skilled labour and providing asylum. Regardless of German political rhetoric, to willingly conflate the two implies an interest in agenda over empathy.

I am saying it's politically convient to Germany and it's politicians

As they see migration controls as a threat to their economy more than anything else.

It's easy for them to criticise as a result
