Sadly, as per @bizzaro s point, this country is significantly overpopulated as it stands, and in comparison with other EU countries. France for instance has a similar population size, but in twice as much geographical space. We just cannot allow a population explosion to continue unchecked.

Nothing.

We let them get on with being poor because they keep it quiet and are useful.

Now they're desperate we should leave them once more?

Nothing, except for people actually fighting to get those things (social housing, support, not being killed by dangerous industrial processes, a decent wage, being able to vote, being able to be fairly represented etc).

By all means though lets trash all that just so you can feel good about yourself whilst also not having to deal with it, or pay for it.

The average Brit did just as much for the NHS as the average Syrian.

Yes, aside from being born into a family that has paid for the NHS since 1947, has probably had people working for the NHS since 1947 and has used its services since 1947, the average Brit has done nothing for the NHS.

The reality is that we can not socially or financially bear to help everyone that needs it. In a perfect world we could but the long term spproach has to be putting them in a situation where they dont want to make such desperate journeys

So your right relies upon the fact you happened to be born to a family in a certain country?

You should get the NHS because your previous relations did and they shouldn't because theirs didn't?
