Dog in the neighbourhood has crapped on my front lawn three times this week. FFS, what person stands idly by while their dog does that on someone elses' property. Worst part is, I almost stood in it this morning on my way to the letterbox.

The problem with unpaid and unrewarded overtime is that it becomes the norm and also a benchmark of how committed to your company you are.

I used to work in an office where the middle / senior staff easily put in sixty - eighth hour weeks in and only got paid for forty.

They also worked at home unpaid and also whilst on holiday too.

They were terrified to be seen leaving their desk before 7pm and some of them where quite often in work for 7am.

When you worked it out, most of them were working up to 2 weeks for free every month.

I work 8-6 so if I work over my contracted hours it takes up what tiny bit of free time I have in the week. When I first started here most people did 7.30-6.30 and with a 1 hour 15 min journey either side I only just had enough time to eat my tea and get a decent sleep. No way to live, that.

Thankfully that culture died a while ago and the office is empty at 6.01pm.

Used to cause major fall outs in an office I worked in.

The girls who sat by the heaters and the windows somehow became the unofficial custodians of them and decided on how hot the office was or whether the Windows couid be opened.

Some of the Facebook fume over this was superb, proper long term fallings out lol
