You've just took me back to the early seventies. My first year on my HNC day release was with imperial units, full on foot pounds, ergs, btus and so on. Break up in June then in September for year two and ffs, the SI system was being used. Now kilogrammes, kelvin, candela. Massive confusion but I passed but only just.I’m guilty of this. I work in construction and use the metric system every day. For some unknown reason though I revert to imperial for anything not work related.

1968 to start my apprenticeship. I wasn't particularly clever or anything like that but had the ability to learn by rote which got me through my exams. Looking back metric was the better system, just didn't feel like it at the time. Good job we're going back to imperial now we're out of the EU, aren't we????Full on sympathy.
I'm assuming that you are a similar age to me. I was taught £ S D at school, as well as stones pounds and ounces, Yards Feet and inches etc.
I Left school in 1969 only for everything to go metric and [Poor language removed] me up for years.
