minor things that make you fume

I’m guilty of this. I work in construction and use the metric system every day. For some unknown reason though I revert to imperial for anything not work related.
You've just took me back to the early seventies. My first year on my HNC day release was with imperial units, full on foot pounds, ergs, btus and so on. Break up in June then in September for year two and ffs, the SI system was being used. Now kilogrammes, kelvin, candela. Massive confusion but I passed but only just.

Full on sympathy.
I'm assuming that you are a similar age to me. I was taught £ S D at school, as well as stones pounds and ounces, Yards Feet and inches etc.
I Left school in 1969 only for everything to go metric and [Poor language removed] me up for years.

1968 to start my apprenticeship. I wasn't particularly clever or anything like that but had the ability to learn by rote which got me through my exams. Looking back metric was the better system, just didn't feel like it at the time. Good job we're going back to imperial now we're out of the EU, aren't we????

We want are inches back !!!!

Having to clean chicken skin and pie debris from Travelodge rooms. Strange how it always looks like a map of the World though?
Don't.
I know not to expect the Ritz when staying at the budget hotels.
But seeing a dirty unkempt room, there's no excuse. Stayed in an Ibis Budget the other week in Southampton and the cleanliness of the room was awful, plus it was nothing short of a knocking shop.

They sprung this on me in 71-72, having grew up with 33000ftpounds = 1hp per min etc I had an 'instinctive' idea what the answer would look like
Newtons? nah.
Got the hang of it in the end...so why spring it on us in year 5, why not start with year 1s

@Joey66 can you confirm or deny that we are going back to imperial measurements post Brexit ?
