minor things that make you fume

Computers.... I’m finishing work today for two weeks ... we use a secure internet connection at work for writing up patients notes... the system has been inaccessible since Monday morning 10am. I have seen 14 of my patients since Monday and rightfully by law each set of notes has to be written up within 24 hours of seeing said patient. Anyway, I started early this morning and rearranged my day so that I could complete all paperwork before going on leave.... managed to get most of it done sand then ...boom...the system crashes again causing me to have to rewrite shoite loads of work .... brought it home to do this evening now ffs.

You a doctor @Kurt ?

I've been looking for that.

Driving near the back of a convoy all doing 60 down a busy country road (the limit). I leave braking distance of a few car lengths, rather than trying to get into the car in front's boot, like the others. I'm in a white MG, driving into the afternoon sun, lit up like an advert for Daz or the likes.

Pass a side junction and this absolute thunder**** in a merc decides to roll, and I mean roll, into the gap I'd left. I slam the brakes on, leave rubber behind, almost get rear ended, tersely blow my horn in irritation for around 5 minutes (it felt like).

The moron then proceeds at a sedate 40mph for the next 3 miles, continues doing 40 through a 30 in a village before eventually trying to get onto a busy dual carriageway, still at 40 on the sliproad.

1. If they're in such a rush they have to pull out, rather than wait til there's a proper gap, then why so slow?
2. How do these people get a licence?
3. Demonstrating general incompetence at decision making, how on earth do they ever get to afford to be driving a merc?

Over the last 6-8 weeks or so I've noticed some new faces behind the counter of my local chippy, which is/was a little goldmine
Recently I've noticed the quality of the fish and chips going down too.
Conclusion; New owners cutting back to make even more money...not off me they won't.
Found a new one.
But I liked the old one it was handy, hence the fume.

we bury a spare key the garden for use in such situations, has come in very handy a couple of times including once getting home at 3am after a night out....would have been a night mare to have to call a lock smith out...or break my own window more likely
Me too, a step up from under the mat or plant pot but easy to find when you know where

All change is bad.
All change gets new people in, they reduce range, reduce quality and put up prices. The old knowledgeable boys in overalls go and are replaced by young lads who know squit and just follow scripts.

In my experience (tool shops, fastener shops, steel stockists etc etc) this happens every time. No exceptions.

It must have been great in the past.
As an old fart, I am glad I won't see much of this sanitised, bland, exploitative new world we're heading to.

I spend a lot of time driving in Snowdonia and some of the idiots on the smaller roads are terrifying, seem some clown the other week over take me and 2 more cars and the tractor we were all stuck behind, 4 in one go, bet he was proud of himself, one day he is getting wrapped around a tree

I know where you're coming from Re. The fasteners etc. If I wanted something 'obscure' and maybe not know quite what I was after, I'd always go to the older guy who'd ask me in detail what I was doing then say...what you really need is 'xyz' and go off in the back, have a rummage and find it for me.
Oh and I'm happy with the new chippy so the red dolphin can do one

This happened to 'Sams' on Lower Breck Rd.
Used to be a great little chippy to get a bite on the way home from the match. The curry sauce was amazing.

Got taken over and renovated about a year back and the food's nowhere near as good now :(
