The way people are talking now, especially on TV and radio. Questions are increasingly responded to by employing the word "so" followed by the answer.
I've noticed this fad for about a year now. It's American in origin I suspect. No doubt there's some TV show to blame - just as Friends influenced a generation of young folk in their speech and body language.
It'll pass in time but it's annoying, especially when politicians do it!

In Belgium they have a weekend ticket on the train where a return anywhere is half price between 1900 on a Friday and 1900 on a sunday.

We're off on a weekend away, bought our tickets, hopped on the 1857... ticket inspector informs us the ticket is invalid by three minutes and doles out a 32 euro penalty fare to the first stop.
