This is so true, normally starts with “no work today mate”The ones who give you mad quotes don`t normally want the job, hence why they give you a mad quote.
The more unscrupulous ones will also " profile " a customer and base their quotes on what they believe the customer to earn.
They slip " not so innocent " questions into small talk during the first visit to price the job up :
" What do you and your missus do for a living "
" What do houses around here go for " etc.
" That`s a nice motor, what did you pay for it "
They`re working out what you earn in their head and whether they can inflate the price.
