minor things that make you fume

Same here. Its becoming unusable as far as I'm concerned.

There are those who say - 'well it creates funding - would you expect it to be free?' To which I answer - "like it was for years? Yes. Why not?"
Chrismpw, I posted this on another website and a guy has come back with two 'ad blocking' facilities which he says will get round the problem. He is usually very dependable. Will let you know how I get on.

I use Youtube quite a bit. It used to be 'skip the advert' at the beginning of a video and watch in peace. I have just finished watching a video which contained 5 adverts, some only a minute apart. If this gets any worse, then it will be bye, bye Youtube.
I hate the Jerk Mate adverts when I’m trying to watch a bit of blue on the sly.

Dead loud they are as well.

It has got ridiculous now. Every 2 or 3 minutes even in a 10 minute vid sometimes.

Not sure if the blame is solely with YT as I've read that the people who upload the videos can choose how many vids to stick in there so I'd guess being a little more selective with who you watch is an idea.

I wouldn't mind non-skippable ads if it was much less regular.

I ended up subscribing to YouTube to get rid of the adverts and also so I can keep it playing in the background and with the screen turned off.

Can't say I've noticed many more benefits to subscribing but I'm using my landlady's Netflix, sister's Amazon so I thought it was worth the tenner a month for that to me.

The trouble is if people subscribe they just carry on. If the hive mind said no, they'd try something else rather than lose viewers.

I absolutely agree and it really annoyed me that I caved and subscribed but I like to listen to a lot of sounds and music on there to sleep to and being in a peaceful sleep one minute and then being suddenly kicked out of dreamland by adverts was not acceptable to me either.

I can honestly say I use it every day and night for the purpose I subscribe for and I'm happier for having it.

Nothing of beauty lasts.

The web is a mess now. We've gone from sites illegally tracking you to every site having a pop up where you have to give them your consent to track you, to adageddon.

I think back to the halcyon days of the 90s and early millennium- it really was a thing if beauty back then - a damn site cheaper, safer and less intrusive.

It also took me 15 minutes to download a nipple.

So swings and roundabouts really.

But that line by line teaser experience lol

What a time to be alive

I remember sneaking downstairs and yawning loudly to cover the noise of phone line connecting and clicking on a pic and sitting in frozen panic in case someone came downstairs waiting for the pic to reveal itself. For literally hours. I could have sketched it faster.

But all very exciting I grant you.

If you have AdBlock Plus installed, you won’t have said adverts @Methuselah.

Seeing queues of people snaking around Debenham stores.
Understandable I know, but seen a few clips of bints beaming with delight of the bargains they've got.
Rein it in a bit eh, the staff aren't too festive.
