minor things that make you fume

Out driving, came to a crossroads. Woman steps off the pavement, on her mobile phone, looking at the ground but fortunately my brakes and reactions are in good working order. Honked my horn, no reaction. Just continued on looking at the ground and talking on the mobile.

I'm fed up with zoom. All these old erses staring out of the screen - me included.
Me and the missus have been zooming with friends. While it's good to see them in a big group you can't have the odd 1 to 1, instead the whole group conversation is dominated by the most loud, boring one who just never shuts up.

Driving home from work from a busy industrial estate there's a fella who bikes home every day in the dark with no hi viz no lights and on his phone with no hands on his handlebars. It's ridiculously dangerous I can't see how he thinks people can see him!

Our Christmas has just been cancelled. The missus was looking forward to us heading off to her daughter's as she hosts with her inlaws too. I was a bit reticent since the inlaws run their own business involving plumbing and have been a bit lapse , shall we put it, with biosecurity during the lockdown as - well money is king is it not?

Anyhow one of the employees came around to the daughters house last night (works with her husband in the family firm) and after an hour or so sat in their lounge (justified by being in the same work bubble) casually mentioned that his dad (who he lives with) had just tested positive.

Unbefrickinglievable how utterly stupid some people are.

Reticence justified. Bit of a relief actually as it saved a hard decision telling the missus that it was a bad, bad idea to go.

The arrogance, ignorance and selfishness of some people is disgusting. I've fallen out with a mate for something similar. His work office had a covid spread and he had sent off for a test after feeling ill, decided to turn up at his sisters for dinner. A few days later his sister, her fella and one of the kids get Covid. Comes out that he had known he probably had it and his response? "I didn't know did I" when he absolutely did. People just shrug their shoulders and carry on. Its those people who need a bullet
