minor things that make you fume

Not comforting when I'd rather be 9 again. Go to school, crayon crappy depictions of Transformers on my desk, go home and watch cartoons and/or build suspect "forts" with friends, then go home and someone cooks for me....rinse, repeat. That was the life.
Couldn't be 9 again. Last year of WW2. Only bright thing was that it was obvious the war was won. Ultra hard with full rationing across the board. If you wore a hole in your shoe, your dad would find some old material, usually rubber, and nail it over the hole. Not enough rationing 'points' for a new pair. Clothes mended until there was more 'mend' than original.
New clothes with faults, rejects, were 'off ration'. I once got a jacket where one sleeve was slightly longer than the other two. lol

I've been looking for a specific item on eBay for a couple of weeks. I spent the first week or so keeping my eye on prices. Loads of people selling so I just sat and considered things for a bit. Of course, now I'm actually ready to make a purchase absolutely nobody is selling what I need. Frustrating.

You had a jacket with three sleeves??

They're Always high here. Its a throw back from when everything was sent via ship from the UK. and that mark up never went away, in fact it's been wound on until the pips squeak, then eased off 50c
Take Levi jeans they're made in SE Asia somewhere, it's further to say San Francisco than it is to Brisbane from there.
But they cost twice as much here than there...so it isn't transport costs.

Lagavulin 16 cost the UK equiv of £69, what does it cost in the UK?
Looked this up for you.
Whisky Exchange quote £75. Other prices range £63 to £84.
Seems you are in the middle.

I'm in the States, Degs...it's typically $89-100 for me here in Arizona for 750ml, which lines up with 69UK (700ml, though) I think. Pricing varies state to state for us though. It's definitely not a bargain buy anywhere in the US that I'm aware of but that's just my own opinion.

Just had a large birch tree removed from garden after it came down. They now taking down a huge oak tree, but got so far and the fella reckons there’s owls in there, so going to make safe and leave me with a big fifty foot monolith by look of it. Missus is flying back from Belfast later and she was hoping to build a big summer house where the oak tree was. I hope she gets back before they leave.
