I’d been working as a construction site manager for 7 years prior to going back on the tools last year. I worked in some rather stressful environments that took their toll on me, but being a tradesman is honestly a complete holiday in comparison.

Some builders are the biggest man children you’ll ever meet. Their brains are still in year 11 mode. It’s utterly embarrassing having to associate with some of these people. They supposedly pride themselves on work ethic but I was running rings around them after two weeks.

Trying to complete my self employed return for the first time.

Have used quickbooks so have all information there. But i work full time in the public sector, on the books for a university at only 16hrs per year, on the books for 1-1 support work at 4hrs per week. Then do my self employed work separately.

Have the return drafted online and from what i can make of it i am expected to pay the full amount i earned self employed back in tax, doesn't seem right so phone HRMC and they can't help unless i submit and said it can be amended again if needed.

Wish this was a bit more straightforward.

A mate of mine told me that he was a good electrician. I was shocked!

Now they've replaced it with this AI-generated crap that tells you absolutely nothing, throws in useless details to try and seem human, and calls Everton "the Liverpool club."

Same here .... since our last provider went to the wall and my credit transferred to British Gas my direct debit has now TRIPLED. And this despite me installing 14 solar panels and getting earache from the missus for barely having the heating on.

But the government say the price of fuel has doubled?
