minor things that make you fume

Piss poor customer service from Amazon sellers. Waited a week for a reply to a message I sent complaining about a delivery not being what was ordered. Then asked me to waste yet more time by supplying evidence of their mistake in the form of photos. Then once they were finally satisfied they screwed up, sent me a generic returns message basically saying ‘send the items here and we will then process your refund once received’ without providing any postage costs to me. Scoundrels.

Mrs Hawtrey bought some nice cotton summer clothes from Amazon on-the-line, shipped from Charlotte NC. Took 3 weeks to get here and was made from a gross sheer nylon material and badly sewn. When she tried to return it , it seems it really came from China and they don't take returns. Of the $160 spent they told her to keep the clothes and they would credit her $40 against some more crappy clothes. Argued until they agreed to a refund once we shipped it back. Cost us almost $100 to ship them back but we did - file under 'petty'
 
Today is the day the pizza van comes to our little town. Great anticipation and excitement, bottle of red open and breathing.

A neighbour asked yesterday for a favour at 6 today that will take only a moment. This is normally a little later than when we eat, so we wait. Just as I'm setting down the road at 6 it starts raining. I get a text from the neighbour saying can I come at 6.30 as THEY'RE having tea. I say no, not really as I'm waiting to have my own tea. She replies - never mind, as it doesnt really matter ... so our rescheduling of grub tIme was pointless. I divert to the pizza van. Its hammering down now. The van isn't there. Wrong week. I trudge back and JUST as I get to the door, soaking wet, hungry and pizza-less the rain stops.

Just feck off Thursday!

I don't buy anything from Amazon unless it's 'Fulfilled By Amazon' and I swerve clothes and the like.

Far too many dropshippers on there, especially clothes. Mrs CT is a dab hand at ignoring my sage advice in this matter and then getting the hump when I won't do all the legwork and sort out the return for her.

It's just a hell of a lot cheaper.
We do that, even with the £120 fine, it is still hundreds of £s cheaper.
We going in February week before half term. Doing that saves us £400. We can use that money towards another trip or summer holiday activities.

Sounds horrible that

Usually you don't see them until late July/August when they turn up en masse and spoil outside enjoyment
