This has always driven (pun intended) me mad since I was learning to drive, and my instructor told me a golden rule:

"Don't just look at the cars coming from the right, but look at what is coming from their right too - they are the ones who will halt the cars from the junction on the right, affording you the time to get out."

Its one of the few bits of advice in driving that has served me so well over the years - though it just heightens my fume when others clearly don't get this concept.

Programmes like "Britain on Benefits - Life on the Dole". My dad got made redundant when I was 12, and was out of work for a while, as were my grandad's. I was made redundant once when I was 20.

I know what life on the dole is like, I've seen it first hand, and it isn't pleasant. Why would I want to watch a programme about it?

Clearly produced by people who have never experienced hardship. 99% of people on the dole would rather have a job. Do one, crap TV.
