minor things that make you fume

Mother in law telling me how I should raise my daughter! Just koff.

My daughter is 3 months old and we are only just getting her into a routine. Then the mother in law trys to tell me I'm wrong to give the child a routine.

Not really a fume, more sad... I had to take down 7 trees in my yard (garden). I hate cutting down trees, but I suppose it is better than the trees taking out my house and/or me. :(

Could you not replace them with saplings that won't have horrendous roots that spread for miles under the house when fully grown.

When I was a kid I planted loads of acorns, horse chestnuts, chesnuts, anything that I could find, in my parents back garden. I am proud to say they are still dealing with the fall out now !

This will only get worse . If you don't deal with it now, she'll be moved in within six months to " help you out " = the end of your life !

Some of them where taken out of wooded areas so planting something there would be hard...they wouldn't get much sun without clearing out even more.

I will eventually plant something in the back. Have to find the right spot. A couple of the trees in the back I took out because they were almost on top of my septic tank so can't put anything back in that area.

You'll find that the ones you've taken out of the wooded area will have created " gaps " where they used to be. This will allow sunlight into the areas where the trees used to be. Even if you don't think the sun is getting there it will be, otherwise the original trees wouldn't have been able to grow. Just do a bit of research on trees that you'd like to plant ?

How old are you?!?! Oaks and chestnut trees must take a loooooong time before they are going to cause any problems! (Unless you bunged a few yew trees and Japanese knot weeds in for bants?)

Late 40's mate, planted when I was around five or so I'm told. The Sycamores I planted caused the most problems. My mar thought that allowing me to plant " helicopter seeds " all over the place was a really great thing for a child to do !
