I posted a similar occurrence in this thread not too long ago, but my card got declined again at lunch. Why? My bank decides to close that card number and does not let me know. I called immediately and the service representative tells me I need to call back in 30 minutes because they are updating their server. In the middle of business hours.
Fast forward 2 hours when I get a chance to call back, and I get connected with the weirdest person I've ever done business with. First she tells me my card expired (it does not until 2017) and then she said they closed it because my card number was captured. Everything else she says is awkward, especially at the end when she told me that she was "sorry about their failures as humans." First of all, what an incredibly bizarre thing to say. Secondly, you're not human. You're a soulless bank. F off.
