This silly boy;
In case this tweet is deleted, it displayed Nigel Faragè's personal disappointment in increasing maternity pay for women.
The soft get.
Or worse, when they say 'ah, you bit, so easy to wind you up' when they've got no other comeback.Nothing more irritating than caning somebody in a debate, only for them to delete comments/entire threads in an attempt to preserve their deluded self-image of possessing unstoppable intellect... although it does let you know that you 'won'.
I'm such a bitter little man.

That's not good mate.Getting to doctors appointment only to be told "oh she's had to go out but you can see the practice nurse intead".
Lovely and helpful as the nurse is, she can't prescribe for my particular ailment until missing doctor looks at blood test results.
Which will be Tuesday at the earliest.
Are you in the UK? Do things work a little differently here to where you are?I don't think women should get paid for maternity leave so I'm not bothered by the comment. Those of us without kids are punished. It's a choice to have a family so you should not expect handouts.
I'm in the US. Not nearly the same thing as old age is something everyone reaches barring unfortunate tragedy. We all have an equal chance of getting old age pension. I also have no issue with people who are ill getting compensated, but women choose to have kids, just as I choose not to. Instead of being stuck with all of the work they are not going to be doing and never compensated for it, I should be able to take two months off with full pay to do whatever I choose to do.Are you in the UK? Isn't that a bit like saying 'I'm not elderly and may never be so I object to an old age pension'?
Of course, you're entitled to your opinion.
We'll have to agree to disagree there.I'm in the US. Not nearly the same thing as old age is something everyone reaches barring unfortunate tragedy. I agree, but perhaps it could be better organised. Private pensions are commonplace now, so perhaps private maternity pay schemes should be made available (for both men and women to pay into, for paternity also), and reduce NI. Want kids? Get cover. Don't want them? Don't get cover. But don't come running to the state when you forget to take the pill.We'll have to agree to disagree there.
I feel women should get maternity leave/pay.

On the second part, having put in my share then I should be entitled to a random break every so often as well. Why should I not receive some extra paid time off because I do not want a family? I just think it needs a major overhaul and should not be guaranteed unless they specifically pay into something for it.People that choose to have children are basically providing the workers and tax payers of the future, without which there would be no healthcare/state pensions for the elderly in the future so you do get some benefit from it!
Plus the vast majority of people that take maternity have contributed taxes/National Insurance all their lives and,in my opinion, are more than entitled to get something back.
I do agree that in some cases the system may be flawed but on the whole I think it works fine in UK
