minor things that make you fume

That's clearly what Ash's management are hoping he's going to do, very soon. Saves them paying out redundancy. Very obvious he's being forced out. I'd be recording it all, then stick them for constructive dismissal.

Sadly Cowboy, I think you are correct.

Have been this kind of scenario myself once and it can be very debilitating even depressing.
I was somewhat fortunate in that I engineered a situation whereby I was suspended and then successfully fought a disciplinary hearing... and used the suspension period to sort myself out a way better paid job. Won the disciplinary, waited a month after re-reinstatement and then resigned ;)

To be honest the lack of action is shocking now. The only reason why I never went through with the formal grievance was that it wouod pull the management into it which I had second thoughts about.

But yeah it's miserable at times, I am actively looking for a new job though so will be ap0lying to them all as they come available including side ways steps.

My dad was forced out of his previous job but because he hadn't put anything in writing documenting the problems to the company he was unable to take it any further as most legal firms will only help if it's nailed on they'll win.

Make sure you get advice on it all before walking!

Is this a Steps tribute group?

Wait - have you only been applying for jobs at a level above what you do now?!

In the past i have to progress yes. but as time has gone on, i have started to think just getting out and moving somewhere else would be a much better option to me.

the problem is i want some sort of challenge, right now where i work if there isn't anything to do then it kind of makes it difficult to engage myself. Same as if i worked in another area of the department, so i want to avoid any job which would put me in a similar position. I am a crazy person who wants to come to work and work hard, have things to get on with and go home at the end of the day knowing i spent the day working, rather than staring at a computer screen.

Sitting in work. Nothing to do, any work keeps getting pulled by who i work with so they have things to do later on. Can't ask for more work because all i will be given is the stuff no-one else wants to do.

One of my team on my desk doesn't say a word to me unless it is to try and shame me over something silly in front of others. the other who i was getting along with last week, now has spent 3 days giving me one word answers when trying to make conversation with him.

everyone else in the office is talking to each other and all nice and happy, and i am sat here, just wanting to walk out the door tbh.

Welcome to a typical day for me...

Sometimes you have to act like the office is a prison.

Get a used toothbrush and file the end into a sharp point, follow the one who doesn't speak to you in the toilet when he is having a slash just walk up-to him and start stabbing him with the toothbrush into his buttocks and hamstring.

It might not make him start talking to you bit he'll think twice about trying to show you up in front of people.

As others have said Ash, you're being " managed out ", which in effect is constructive dismissal. However I feel they are clever in what they're doing it's very hard to prove.

If you aren't doing it already, you need to start keeping a journal, who said what, who else was present, times and dates etc. This will help enormously if you decide to sue the firm.

Also make sure that you always on time, don't go over on your lunch or your breaks and don't leave early. You don't want to give them any ammo to fire back at it if goes all legal.

As @Bungle says, just say the word and we'll start GOT guerilla action on your behalf. I'm sure some of your work colleagues would like to be contacted during office hours by someone from the Huns Yellow Pages for starters !

If nothing else mate i have an email from 2014 which detials the issues, so if i ever went down this path, that is evidence in itself.

but yeah, as i mentioned i walked away from the grievance as it would include superiors and they have been supportive in other areas for me so when all is said and done, i didn't want to be 'that guy' who doesn't appreciate the support for things like family matters etc.

Keep the events of the aborted grievance documented too, sounds like a good bit of evidence in itself.

yeah i have the emails for that too.

That is what makes the whole thing a bit funny really, if i genuinely took it further and went at them with it all, the one question that they couldn't answer would be 'what did you do about it?' which when i am still repeating the same issues 2 years later, the answer is very little.
