Took my lads to an old haunt in Bristol this afternoon, an ancient permanent market called St Nicks. Utterly great place. @ste d' indica
When they were kids they would browse the old fashioned toy shop, then choose some retro sweets from the best sweet shop in the world, then have coke or sommet in the cafe.
Today, browsed the 4, yeah, FOUR (proper) second hand record shops, had a pint on the docks out side a jazz pub,(The Old Duke, google it) but still went to the sweet shop. Was just ace.

St Nicks is a must visit anytime you come to Briz. Took my old man there while my mum was off shopping, he found a proper bike spanner in the cycle shop, some arse destroying chilli sauce in Dr. Burnörium's Hot Sauce Emporium and then we had a couple in the Rummer, one of the city's best bars. He was happy as a clam. One of the record shops sells some top ska and reggae.

It's the old exchange building. Those half post/half table things are called 'nails'. It's where merchants used to sign deals and some attribute this to be the origin of 'cash on the nail'.
