A 'murder investigation' has been opened I see..

Complete and utter waste of time.. and money. The guy insisted on trespassing on the land of a tribe who clearly have no interest in integrating with modern civilisation and he paid the price. Open and shut.

However, because his intentions were 'good' and his Christian family back in the US are upset, obviously someone else needs to be held responsible for his death!

He was told he could infect the entire tribe and wipe them all out, clearly that didn't bother him s he carried on regardless

Is it murder to repel an invasion when you've been pretty clear you don't want outsiders on your shore?
They made their intentions unambiguously clear, so the fella's delusional obsession to persist is tantamount to suicide. Clown.

the murder charges are being brought against the fisherman aren't they, as in they basically killed him by taking him there, not against the islanders

Having read a bit more into it since I posted I was wrong about the family. Apparently they don't blame the fisherman for taking him there... so it makes you wonder why the investigation was even opened in the first place?

I think its a case of they should have known exactly what was happening so basically took him to his death, probably one of them "culpable homicides" that we just call manslaughter

Its funny that a Christian missionary is unintentionally proving Charles Darwins theory of natural selection indeed correct. A sort of twisted poetry.

He's got to win a Darwin Award. Going to a forbidden island, populated by a tribe who are notorious for killing anyone who comes there, is just asking for it, really.
