Minor things that make you happy



I’ve been chasing a solicitor for some documents for months now following a personal injury and had sent loads of emails etc. but I was just being ignored.

I emailed them again today being all titty and telling them I’d send the email again every day until they responded, also threatening them with going higher up the managerial ladder and reporting them to the insurance ombudsman.

I got a reply within the hour.

I used to work for a personal injury solicitor mate.

Up until very recently they would have responded to each and every email / phone call with a letter and then billed the other side for every phone call / letter.

A letter would be billed at around £50 even if it contained three words. Each phone call would be billed at a minimum of £30, even if it was to only leave a message on voice mail !!!

However, as part of the clampdown on the gravy train ( and rightly so ) the government have put a stop to their many and varied scams and introduced fixed fees.

So they ignore their clients now, as there`s no money for them to make in responding.

Scum.

That makes sense as they stopped communicating as soon as I received my payout. All she needed to do was send a few attachments I was legally entitled to but she couldn’t be bothered so I embarrassed her instead. Made me feel like a bit of a tit but it has to be done.
 
After putting ice cubes in a glass, listening to them crackle a bit and melt slightly as you pour your drink over them makes me strangely happy. Anticipating the nice cold drink to come especially on a hot day adds to it
