My girlfriend works in a school in a really bad neighbourhood, lot of kids (aged 4-11) who don't have a lot of structure outside school, a lot of children of immigrants and asylum seekers, a lot of different cultures, poverty, trauma you name it.
Anyway, today any of them who wanted had the chance to get out of school for the afternoon, cycle 10km across the city (I love that's how they move them around for school trips!) to the Ghelamco arena and get toured around by 4 of AA Gent's first teamers, one Belgian, one Cameroonian an Iranian and a Nigerian. End of the tour they got tickets for the Roma game in the Europa League and a load of football equipment for the school. And lots of hugs.
