Minor things that make you happy

I got an Ember heated mug for Xmas, which is the most ludicrously expensive & ridiculous gadget I think I’ve ever come across however, in the morning about 45 mins after pouring a coffee then realising I haven’t drank 3/4 of it, taking a sip and it being the perfect temperature still is deeply satisfying in an odd way.

Popped in to my local butcher today, on my way home from my first shift at my new job.

Having a chat with the butcher whilst getting a few bits and bobs, it turns out that trade has been more than brisk for well over six months - he's 30% up on the figures from the same six-month period in the previous year. This upturn has allowed him to take on two new apprentices. Good results all round.

Have a look at some of the reviews on YouTube if it appeals, but it’s almost embarrassingly expensive.
My Mrs got mine at a good discount as she works at a stockist but even then it’s still hard to recommend at the price. That said though, despite my initial scepticism I use it every day.
First thing I had to do when I connected it to my my phone was update the firmware......in a mug ffs!
Think Costco are doing the rev1 version at about £55 at min, batteries in those don’t last as long off the coaster i believe.

Congratulations on your new job ;)

I have never sent a Text either.
Oh I do all that stuff, I've even been known to Twitterise occasionally, and for a brief time even had facebook.
That (and logging in to GOT) is about the extent of my IT knowledge. I remember feeling ridiculously proud of myself when I worked out how to post photos and even GIFs
