Minor things that make you happy

Buying new tools. Even something as basic as a chisel is slightly heroic in some regards. That tool has been created specifically for one task and it shall serve admirably and with confidence.
Ive been trying to buy a set of chisels for some time. There seems to be no middle ground between soft, brittle junk that doesnt hold an edge, chips and is basically useless, and three figures high end tools for craftsmen. I'm not going to be doing anything of note with them, but i begrudge paying for sh*te and cant justify high end stuff. Can you point ne in the direction of a reasonably priced set that will serve me admirably and with confidence?

What job?

What job?
Just round the house/garden projects. Im sure i could do what i need with some crap off amazon like am-tec but i like to try and make good purchasing decisions. While i expect cheap to be cheap, slightly better brand names for a fair bit more money still have a significant number of poor reviews for edges, chipping, cutting angles, all the stuff that you might like a chisel to be good at...!

100%.
I inherited a good number of my grandfather’s tools (he was a carpenter). Some of my most cherished possessions and still do the job after 70+ years

I find this with just about all products now. Have to invest in relatively expensive high end products or you get substandard goods.
Clothes especially. The likes of Next and M&S fall apart after a few weeks despite taking care with them.
I now buy fewer things but save for the highest quality.
