Minor things that make you happy

The wife burnt the soulplate of the iron yesterday to the extent that she was talking of buying a new one.
I decided to search the internet for ways of cleaning it without scratching.
As you might imagine there are dozens of different tips for ways of doing this.
Some of the answers I found suggested using various items that might be found in most households e.g. vinegar, toothpaste, baking soda, lemon juice etc. but for some reason I decided to try the one that seemed least likely to me.
Paracetamol lol
The suggestion was to heat the iron to max and rub it with a paracetamol tablet. (mind your fingers) It just sounded so ridiculous that I had to try it.
I was amazed to find that it does actually work brilliantly. The paracetamol melts as you rub it and then just wipes off taking any burn marks with it and leaving the iron like brand new.
It took about 2 minutes. Money saved . . . and browny points from the Mrs. ;)

Found a local pharmacy that has a huge vending machine/robot for prescriptions with 24 hour access. No more wading through a sea of pensioners at Tesco.

No one told me getting old would entail getting so excited about this sort of things. It’s not too bad to be fair.

edit: tipsy typo

Finding a Landrover air filter 4500kms into a 7000kms round trip from Brisbane to Cape York - the most Northerly point of mainland Australia...the pointy bit when you look on the map

Before and After

Other problems - some tbh, could happen anywhere.
A hole in the turbo entry hose, made a new one from a cut down old radiator hose from shed of a guy at the Bramwell Station road house - still on and working...on the to do asap list.
Blew all the door speakers - they don't like repeated 3+ ft water crossings.
Big crack in windscreen...on the last day on standard roads ffs
Smashed the crappy plastic back bumper...Santa was supposed to be bringing me a big koff steel one, more urgent now
And 1 possibly 2 near side shocks.
Oh and somewhere along the way my front number plate shook its self off...the bolts are still there, just no plate.

Proper fun, Degs...wish I could've been there. Just missing a milk crate, packed with various single malts, strapped to the bonnet! ;)
