Fantastic road trip. Just what landrovers are for.Finding a Landrover air filter 4500kms into a 7000kms round trip from Brisbane to Cape York - the most Northerly point of mainland Australia...the pointy bit when you look on the map
Before and After

Other problems - some tbh, could happen anywhere.
A hole in the turbo entry hose, made a new one from a cut down old radiator hose from shed of a guy at the Bramwell Station road house - still on and working...on the to do asap list.
Blew all the door speakers - they don't like repeated 3+ ft water crossings.
Big crack in windscreen...on the last day on standard roads ffs
Smashed the crappy plastic back bumper...Santa was supposed to be bringing me a big koff steel one, more urgent now
And 1 possibly 2 near side shocks.
Oh and somewhere along the way my front number plate shook its self off...the bolts are still there, just no plate.

There were 3 of us, 2001 Landrover, 2005 Patrol and a 2010 Pajero.Fantastic road trip. Just what landrovers are for.
Hi degsy how are you doing today hot weather there. There were 3 of us, 2001 Landrover, 2005 Patrol and a 2010 Pajero.
If you look at it in the manner a 3 car Top Gear challenge, which we more or less turned it into, with me as Clarkson, No.1son as Capt.Slow and No.2 son as Hammond in the Pajero,
All cars had their points, good and bad, but I have to say that the Paj was the overall winner.
Yo there C man.Hi degsy how are you doing today hot weather there.
Yes we all good mate.Yo there C man.
We've go a lot of tropical rain here this week so it's cooled down a bit, stops you doing 'outside stuff' - just when I've got stuff that needs doing.
You and your dog still all OK?
Is that a close up after the removal of the first dressing of your finger?
Congratulations. I am long retired, but I can well remember the difference between enjoying and enduring work. I have experienced both and I know what a big deal it is to be doing a job that you enjoy. ?For the first time in a long time I’m genuinely enjoying my day to day work. This is the first time I’ve not had a contract in 8 years and it’s not as scary as I’d imagined. If anything the more short term nature keeps me on my toes and at my best. I especially like going to multiple different jobs. Every one is different and requires a slightly different approach so it keeps things fresh. I got sick of seeing the same office and faces after a few months, never mind years.
I’m not doing anything special, but I’m in a good small team and we’re all pulling in the same direction. No other managers to undermine me or project managers disrupting things, just genuine hard workers. It’s great to have two guys that I can actually trust.
