Minor things that make you happy

I set up a few bird feeders in my backyard and I have really enjoyed watching them so far. It's been good for my mental health. Blue Jays, Cardinals, Orioles, and so much more.

We took our feeder down, all we get are rats, pigeons, and the occasional squirrel.

The squirrels are a pain but they have to eat too I guess.

Good to see at least one north American taxonomist had enough imagination not to name a newly discovered species after a sports team.

Ok, so I'm not sure this would be my go to, but I have to ask - what kind of bread, cheese, onions & other ingredients are in this minor thing that made you happy?

Basic cheddar cheese, wholemeal bread, and fresh spring onion.

Nothing fancy, cup of Yorkshire tea to wash it down.

We've blackbirds and pigeons nesting in different parts of our cypress tree. It remains to be seen whether they get on.

For the last few years we have had a couple of wood pigeons returning every Summer, to raise chicks.
