Minor things that make you happy

A cold crisp pint from a freshley cleaned beer line on a nice summers day in the arse end of nowhere. With a pack of nobby nuts.
One of life's simple pleasures

Pulled in to the local pub car park and the landlady spotted me, smiled and waved and started walking towards the door to the bar.

It’s the little things.

I pop down the pub now and again, maybe twice a week, about this time. "Half as usual Mark?" is always ace.

Then, when a pal gets his round in for his Guinness drinking pals, lobs me another half. I left a rum for him in the till; its what you do innit?

It's just decent local etiquette.

I've bounced all over the place since I moved away when I was 18 so haven't really nailed down a local but moved back to Liverpool 6 months ago (L16) so soon...

Great memories of drinking Pepsi as a young lad on Pilch Lane with my old man, some characters in that place and they all looked after each other.

and they all looked after each other.

Me elderly Mum will be moving soon, and was fretting about booking a removal company. Mentioned it to the lads the other night, and they all said "We will sort your Mum mate, just let us know". They all knew Dad, and most knew Nikki, and like you say, and I say often, most folk are nice.

There's a lot of good souls out there mate although I'm sure you don't need me to tell you that.

Best of luck to your old dear with her move.

I'm away from home a lot with work so mine has practically moved into my new house while I'm away which I'm more than happy with as I've got landscapers around right now so I've got someone there keeping an eye on things.

I've also got the full Sky package in there so she can watch her beloved (spit) Liverpool FC so quid pro quo I guess.

I most often go on my own for one on a Friday for a nice post week wind down. It’s incredibly relaxing.

It’s great when you get over the anxiety of being ‘on your bill’. It’s liberating.
