I went to the Ship and Mitre the other day. I haven’t been for years, and I forgot how good it is. Very reasonably priced food and the selection of ales is unbelievable.

sadly it only turned out to be a light covering but I'm only 10-15 mins from the coast so it's fairly unusual to get it here. Said on the weather we might get some proper snow next week!! I'm guessing by your weather it's summer so you must be in Aus/NZ?

Sunshine Coast Qld, it's about 1hr 40 North of Brisbane on a good motorway day, so 2hrs mostly

We’ve just got rid of one of them, you could chuck wood in it, it’d run on anything.

I like a Merc. @Morag swapped it for a Ford Ecosport which is decent. I’ve had a fair few Focii over the years, all excellent. Had a few Mondeo’s too, again superb.

I currently have a 68 plate Grand C-Max, and what a van it is!

We opted for the big Daddy Ford Galaxy 7 years ago. What a car. Throw anything into it. Wardrobes/Sofas/Christmas Trees/6 - a side Youth Football Teams and it gets great MPG too. Its getting a bit long in the tooth now and I'll need to look for a replacement in the next 12/24 months but possibly one of the best cards I've ever owned.

Pictured is a (out of focus)mould I made, and to the left a trial ring I made, casting lead. It is a terminal to be soldered on the end of my speaker wire. I'm aiming to get a tighter and bigger surface area contact than a conventional banana plug allows. The real ones (8 in total) will be cast out of fine 999 silver, once the crucible and flux turns up in the post. Mooching about in my workshop finding ways to improve my hifi makes me happy.

It actually annoys me when a car slows down to let me cross and there's a big gap behind them I could have crossed in. I am annoyed by the unnecessary environmental impact of making a car stop for me. It further annoys me that I'm being annoyed by somebody being kind and considerate!!

MOT & service is done for another year. Only normal wear and tear parts replaced.

My mechanic said the van is absolutely sound and no need to consider replacing it for a long time yet. Nice to know as I’ve had some right dogs over the years.
