Misc. Transfer Rumour Thread

I really don't know why Martinez was not looking at other options that Kone. Bent only went for about 6 million i seen. Defoe available for the same. Strikers who would both get us goals.

I'm worried about tomorrow. But, got to be positive, we may even come out having a good deadline day.

Bent has gone on loan.

Dave Whelan on talksport saying clubs are after one, two of his players and he doesn't know if they'll match what they want, and if they do, they don't know if they'll be able to replace them. it was his first comment. If they want an inflated fee for McCarthy we should just concentrate elsewhere. He said Everton are talking to them 'even' in the last 2/3 hours. He said if we make the right offer he won't stand in his way.

As it stands, it doesn’t look like Fellaini/Baines deals are on, United not meeting out valuation, Moyes will try ticks, don’t be surprised to read BN on SKY tomorrow talking about a new bid, something like 18M divided to 3 years (6M upfront) and additional 8M add-ons (things like 2M if they win the Champions League) while the story will be United offered 24M, he might hope that Fellaini might get desperate (like Arteta) and force us to do a deal.

I read somewhere today that Wigan rejected an offer from us for McCarthy, 10M in installments

If we don’t sell anyone and bring Barry on loan and McCarthy (up to 15M based on installments and ad-ons) it will be perfect

I recall a Manc fan coming on here not long ago saying effectivley that M U were skint, 630 mill in debt and were struggling his words to get the loot together for transfers so who knows.

As for Whelan and Wigan, no way IMO will he accept instalements, cash upfront I am sure.

I actually think we will have Mccarthy by Tuesday morning - based on nothing more than the above comments.

If we end up with McCarthy and Beausejour as replacements. Don't know whether to laugh or cry.

...........sounds like another Wigan raid. I have to admit that I was hoping that RM would be a bit more adventurous, after all he has supposedly got a global knowledge of players. All a bit depressing.

I wouldn't worry about Beausejour. I think it's obvious a club is in for McManaman and he confirmed Everton are in for McCarthy, dependant on a Fellaini sale. Imagine, Wigan will get £60m for getting relegated and perhaps in excess of £25m for Kone, McManaman and McCarthy. I think they want around £15m for McCarthy and we're trying to haggle them down.

Judging by what ive seen and heard, apparently our first bid for McCarthy was around £7-8m and some lid has said that Whelan only wants Everton to up their bid by about £2m. Would be happy with James McCarthy for £10m. Get Ince in for £5-7m, then someone else, add that to Barry loan and someone else on loan.

Imagine if McCarthy gets bought for 15m.

We'd have paid 20m for Kone and McCarthy this summer.

The horror.
