Chimaev is a animal, and I really do hope he becomes champion but I just can’t see it. I think in a 5 round fight Colby and Usman beat him. The whole mystery surrounding how good he is and what his ceiling is was shown last night. It was a war and a great fight but I think Colby and Usman are a level above.
 
Chandler was awesome, what an outstanding front kick to KO Ferguson. Love his energy, he's dynamite.

What a terrible event the Namajunas Esparza fight was, but the right result, even if I thought the judges would side with Rose. That was a woeful defence of her title, simply cannot believe her performance and lack of aggression.

Oliveira, wow. What a warrior. Took some damage from Gaijhe but came back and there was no doubt after it went to the floor. The way he put himself in a position to finish in several ways was great; could have done the armbar, the triangle or the rear naked choke. Gaijhe is too wild for me, needs to learn patience and practice his ground game.

I am quickly becoming a Chandler fan. I never watch Bellator so never saw any of his fights there, but since he has been in the UFC he has done nothing but impress me. Loved his last fight with Justin Gaethje, which for me is easily in top 10 all time. Unbelievable front kick to dispatch Ferguson. I don't think we will see a rematch against Oliveira for the title just yet. I can see Chandler v Makhachev or Poirer.

As much as i enjoy Gaethje swinging for the fences and going all out every fight to bang, its obvious this fella won't be champion anytime soon. He is a one trick pony who just cannot adapt and worse, won't adapt to differing fighting styles of opponents. He just wants to KO people, and whilst that is entertaining to watch for the casual, its poor decisions like that that will always cost him being crowned the champ. Oliveira is a submission freak, one of the best around, and once it went to the ground it was over....... just like Gaethje last fight against a well skilled ground game opponent in Khabib. Only one outcome.

Hats off to Oliveira though. Very skilled all round fighter who has vastly improved from 2/3 years ago. This fella has all the tools to becoming an all time great. He remained focused despite all the nonsense with the weigh in yesterday.
 

Saw a lot of the fighters yesterday milling around the jubilee place shopping centre near the fighter hotel. Looking forward to watching the fights tonight to take my mind off the blues. Paddy is box office. Hopefully they can continue to match him smart but sadly he will never contend at the sharp end of the division. If he properly looked after himself he could probably fight at Featherweight still
 
He is a good laugh but the "scousers don't get knocked out" thing he loves to say is so cringey ..and it's far easier not to get iced when you're not fighting top 15 calibre.
 
Been some good fights so far tonight, Nathaniel Wood is looking great here having not been in the octagon for 21 months
