Khabib does leave his chin in the air moving back on his feet - he's nowhere near as impressive standing up and is probably a mid-tier UFC guy in that regard.

But his wrestling/ground work is in a whole other league to any other fighter I've ever seen.

I've noticed that, thing is if you're close enough to hit him, you're close enough for him to get hold of you - then it's pretty much game over.

He took a clean shot from Poirier tonight but his chin held up, and he gives the impression it's a very good chin overall as he's pretty much got his head cleared instantly.

I think the only way you beat Khabib is to knock him out with one shot early because, as you say, if you don't, you're done. You can't score a decision over him because he'll get you down more often that not and win round after round, and you realistically can't outlast him and hope to finish him when gassed late on, because you expend more energy defending on the ground than attacking.

He's basically as close to unbeatable as it gets.
 
Porier said to his corner 'I just can't get him off me'.. while his corner kept saying 'more effort, your the champ, need to give more effort.' - WTF did he pay his corner cause that is pathetic. They should be saying 'look Dustin you need to do everything in your power to nock him out in the first 20 seconds of each round otherwise you've lost the round.'

Terrible coaching.

I know what you're saying, watching Khabib fight is like watching Mayweather - it's not pretty, but like @Tubey said, it's as close to perfect as a fighter today.

You don't keep him away from you and knock him out you're done for.

No denying he's a sensational fighter/athelete... just not into wrestling at all.
 
I think retire undefeated

Tony is the only one currently about who stands a chance, but I don’t see his 10th planet BJJ doing too much when he’s against the fence

The only way I see him losing is if an Usman/Colby type fighter with high level wrestling comes through at lightweight, but he’ll most likely have retired by then, I think he’ll wanna bounce at 30-0
