They are impressive. As a Rockies fan, I'm a bit grateful that we didn't make it to the Series this year as getting swept by the Sox again would have been quite painful. (I went to all four games in 2007).

Been following the Sox for about 10 years, my interest trailed off when Henry bought that shower.
It was funny, in the first year as owner of both he tried hard to link the two clubs, friendlys, Anfield gates outside fenway etc. but he learned pretty quickly that it was better to play down the link as all it did was alienate fans of other premier league clubs and RS fans would support anyway. He was constantly getting crap in public (Boston Evertonians did our bit) and I don't think he was expecting that at all
Any hoo, they're doing well and playoff baseball is fun so once again I find myself reluctantly cheering for the sox.

Don't hate on your Sox just because they're related by marriage to the RS.
Amusingly as a lifelong (*cough*fortysomething*cough*) Sox fan (grew up in Mass before we moved to Arizona in the mid-80s), almost was a RS fan when they bought that lot.
But between that time and the tv deal that brought the prem to the US FSG treated Terry Francona, he who managed the team that broke the 86 year drought and tacked on another championship 3 years later, like crap when it was time to part ways. Instead of saying "We want to thank Tito for two titles and the joy they brought, but it's time to go in a different direction." Instead they flat out made crap up to make him look bad. Francona, like Bruschi and Gronk with the Pats, has University of Arizona roots, so I found such behavior doubly offensive.
Will always love the Sox, from the GM down... but have nothing but disdain for the ownership group.
And that is a huge part of how I ended up here when the Prem started airing on NBC. Everton were a team that checked all my boxes (history, sound fans, good club but not a frontrunner) and that was the icing on the cake.

Goldy traded to St. Louis. Every Cubs fan's nightmare has come true.
...this is not good news at all. Goldschmidt now goes from playing six or seven games against the Cubs every year to facing them 19 times, and Goldy is a Cub-killer. The only possible saving grace here is that Goldschmidt is under contract only through 2019.

They're a mystery, wrapped in an enigma, wrapped in charcoal grey road unis. I can't imagine them without Goldy, actually. Their fans (there are a few) have to be gutted.
