Good god man. I'm the opposite. I can only get a specific type of hat... the pro hats have that huge forehead, and while I'm no @chicoazul I don't need a cap with a high crown to my already above average sized dome.

Had that one below for a good 17 years. Dated back to the late 90s, wore it after the Yankees got those two roid powered homeruns from Jason Giambalco to come from behind and beat the Sox in the 2003 ALCS. You bet your ass I wore it the following year when the Sox came from being 0-3 down to win the 2004 ALCS and every subsequent WS win. Wanted one in my lifetime. Got three. The hat was ubiquitous for me, like Indiana Jones and his hat.

Sadly, it's with the angels now (Heaven, not Los Angeles of Anaheim) ... finally done in by Paraguay's 90 degree, 80% humidity weather. Still haven't found a new one to replace it.

Rockies went 5-2 on East Coast swing, DC & Pittsburgh. Now home to host the Padres & Cubs.....

Two thoughts:
(1) wonder if they could play their entire schedule on the road, except when
(2) they're hosting the Padres, for the entertainment value and the thrown baseball gloves.

They won't face the glove throwing chicken Perdomo at least haha!! After last nights woeful performance i think his time in the majors is done haha!!

Well, I'm sure Nolan Arenado is relieved - he's back on Friday as the Cubs come to town.

And the Padres get the Mets with their perfect away record.

Haha!! yeah i bet he will be relieved not to get gloves thrown at him alright.

Yep we play the Mets should be fun haha!! I'll be at those games. My brother in law is an umpire and is scheduled to do that series (not going to say which one obviously).

I did say after our decent wins against the giants we would lose the next 8 so far we are on course to do just that haha!!

Cool to have that connection to the match.

I'm a soccer ref in Colorado (youth and amateur adult) and enjoy watching MLS refs that I know - and of course giving them some grief when they mess up.....hope you can do the same with your brother in law.

Oh always giving him grief haha!! He has been involved in some mad plays and subsequent decisions.

Although not too much grief because we basically get a pass that enables us to go to any game for free except playoff and the world series.

Just making me jealous now aren't you?

As for those Mets...

4-2 down, and an 8 run 8th, it was worth getting up at 3 for! Just intime for Juan Lagares' clutch 2-run hit! 4-Game series against the Braves now, Syndergaard, deGrom and Harvey to feature, should be interesting.

Matt Harvey has absolutely lost it hasn’t he?

I know he’s had bad injuries and that but no way he should be a starting pitcher these days.

Any chance he could be traded? Can’t actually see him having much value anymore.

Let's not mess with tradition.....because I love baseball in the snow.

The MLB season is too dang long.

That's not a universal truism, but it's definitely the opinion of Chicago Cubs first baseman and three-time All-Star Anthony Rizzo. He has a point.

Here's what Rizzo had to say Tuesday on Chicago's ESPN 1000 (via ESPN.com's Jesse Rogers):

"I think we play too much baseball. Yes, guys are going to take pay cuts. But are we playing this game for the money or do we love this game? I know it's both, but in the long run it will make everything better. ... In a perfect world, we'd start the season later and play a few scheduled doubleheaders going into an off day. As a fan you're going to a baseball game in April, and it's raining, snowing and [with] freezing rain. Is it really that much fun? That's my question."

More double headers, more rest days. I'm ok with 162, but every team needs at least 1 doubleheader a week. This would cut down on the length of the season, create more forced rest days, more rotation in the lineup, give switch up the pitching, make managers think about the long term more, cut down on wins (and make the standings more competitive), and might increase stadium revenues.

Didn't they try this before as in scheduled doubleheaders and not make up ones for rain delays etc...

I think the teams decided that it wasn't worth it as they would lose gate receipts for one game and the concessions etc... Also cities complained about roads being closed and police on extended duty.

That and some players complained about fatigue and then there was a scenario if one game goes over it pushes the next one out.

I think also some teams said it had a negative affect on fans or simply they left after one game. An average game is what 3 hrs. So 6 hrs is a long time to sit through.

Shorten the season is the easiest way to do it. Do some teams really have to play each other as much as they do in their own division? Take a series away or shorten series and you would have a better schedule.
