Rangers winning a few games and calling up a youngster who goes 3-4 with a HR in his first game?
Nothing to see here, carry on people. It's the excitement that kills you; don't let yourself get excited.
Can't work The Mets out.
Seemed to start really well but now it's win one lose two.
It's June. It's the Mets. You'll learn. Takes some years. Think Spurs after a hot start. That kind of thing.
Think Everton with a lead in the 75th minute. Except in this case, the last 15 minutes drags out for 3 months.
riiight... Quite a display, plus the homecoming of the prodigal son.
I suspect Casa Serenissima looks a bit like this.

Next year will be 30 years since we last won the World Series and it's been 15 years since we won the NL pennant. There are some green shoots there with the young pitching but we're still quite a bit from being a contender. Times have changed too. Freddie Wilpon was duped by his buddy Bernie Madoff so now the Mets are in the bottom half of MLB payrolls ($60 million less than the Nats). Can't work The Mets out.

Makes sense.
From a pitching point of view. Harvey and Colon seem good, DeGrom seems ok, the others seem a bit crap.
Sound right?
I can only have my heart broken so many times. After Bountygate, Everton, two WS losses, and every pitcher on the Rangers' 40-man having their Tommy John done at a group discount, I'm entirely unconcerned about this year's Rangers.
Me and this-year's Rangers are like a marriage in its 20th year, except I CBA to take the pill because I'd rather finish reading a book and get to bed early.
deGrom is a stud, rookie of the year last year. He made his debut at 26 because he was a shortstop in college until halfway through his last year and he had Tommy john surgery his first year as a pro. Colon is hilariously entertainingHarvey should be great as long as he stays healthy. Never watched deGrom pitch, but his stats suggest he should be really good. A bit old to get his MLB debut at 26, but sometimes it takes a while. Big-Fat-Bartolo-Colon is as undependable as he is exciting to watch. Right now he's exciting to watch if you're a Mets fan. Soon he'll be exciting to watch if your team is facing the Mets.
