Brewers come down to the Northside for three. One nil victory for the Cubs in the first one (all day games, too). Lester finally looking like the ace we paid for, but the Crew helped early and often with their lack of discipline at the plate. Could have been more but Maddon's emphasis on going for the extra base, especially from first to third, ran us out of a couple of runs along the way. It was like an extended tribute to Wendell "the Human Windmill" Kim.
I haven't seen this kind of aggressiveness from my Cubs in, well, ever. Strange but nice. Nicer to win.

Yep. I've noticed. The SCUB are hardly a finished product, but I think they'll get better through the year, barring injuries and the like. The keys for me is that they're never out of the game and they're fun to watch. It's been a long, long time since I could say that. The RATPIES (love it) have been playing way below their real ability - just look at all the ways they conjured to lose to us. When it warms up, so will those bats.
Salad days at Wrigley with the current crew. Good to see PGH getting some decent ball. Might be because the Stillers have been err.. limited in their results of late. That's only if you believe in karma, not that I do.
