This is the wildest game I’ve ever seen. 2-2 in extra time. LAFC loses their keeper to a DOGSO red card and stays down on the field for a good 10 minutes. Philly scores in the 124th minute. Somehow Bale gets free for an equaliser in the 127th minute. Going to penalties.
Missed it unfortunately

I don’t understand what this mesns

It’s more similar to the type of trade you see in baseball, hockey, American football. Player for cash and draft picks,
other considerations.
Each team has a certain number of international player slots (I believe it’s 8- not exactly sure though) which are tradable. They’re also receiving Montreal’s selection in the draft.
Hope this helps!

Adding to what wm02 describes, in most NA sports there are tradable assets (in fact, the player contract is tradable, so there aren't new terms when a player switches teams) as well as salary caps and unique player acquisition rules. So the GAM is a type of salary cap exception and the super draft pick is a draft pick (new player selection pool), and these are valuable assets, especially if RSL doesn't think it can get the player to extend his contract or he otherwise doesn't fit their team build.
