Yeah this has to be it. As others have pointed out, it’s too left field to be a straight up blag for attention but the conflicting reports are so contrasting that someone along the line has, knowingly or otherwise, strongly exaggerated the progress that had been made.

Assuming we are in for him, I imagine that weakens our hand from a negotiating POV, which is a highly Everton consequence.

He's not really a striker though, looks more of an Alli replacement (if he can actually get on the pitch).

Not sure how often he started for Ajax but 1 goal for a dominant team in 16 games isn't earth shattering tbh.

Scored a few in the Danish Superliga.

Tosun and Omar Naisse probably had better striking stats when they signed.....Arouna Kone certainly did.

He’s still young. Younger than Onana. I like young players on long contracts let them build something long term make them hungry stay in the premier league and fight for Europe.
