I reckon no one in this thread has actually watched him play a game of football.

I actually have mate last season ( and for the life of me I can't remember who against but for some reason my pea brain is saying he came on against Ajax in the CL) and honestly he didn't look up to much but don't think he was on for long. I'm guessing that was just a one off as tbf the whole Juve team were crap that night.

He's probably worth much more than 36m right now. Lets pretend that is right and the buy back is 50m. After a couple years his book value again will be significantly reduced. So on a 5 year deal would be worth 21m, the profit to say 50m would be 28m.

Now we are losing the potential to sell him much much higher or even just have access to him if Juve want him back, which would be a bigger issue for us as we have to go through the pain of replacing him.

My take is given the talent he supposedly has he could well be worth 50m already, but the buyback is giving us access we might not otherwise be able to afford or risk.

So 36m and have him for a couple years worst case plus about 28m profit or pay 60m and get him with no clause but risk him not actually working out.

I feel it makes sense, as long as we are getting a bit of a discount on the current fee, which we clearly did with Geri.
The way I see it, if he is instrumental in us getting CL football then we will attract more players of his standard.

From the little I've seen, he's very quick and direct, if a bit raw in terms of touch and link play.

Sigurdsson will need to take on the responsibility of being the target man, so to speak, although that's something I think he's quite well-suited to anyway.
