Two cup SFs in were in year three. EL last 16 in the second season. First season we had iur best season since the 80s form and victories wise.

As said: 'golden years' in comparison with what we have now.

2005 under David Moyes finishing in the top four above Liverpool, always qualifies for me as being better than any points record and outside the top four. Points are one thing but finishing higher than your competitors is another.

For me its like winning the race (or in this case top four) compared to missing out but having the consolation of a personal best.

Give me achieving the better finish every day.

61 points that 4th was achieved on. It'd get you about 6th or 7th most seasons.

Agreed but I'd rather finish in the top four however few points it took than finish in the Europa League places with a personal points record.

Compared to now though I would take finishing fifth but we're currently as many as three points behind the fifth placed club.

Moyes did finish 4th once, 5th twice, 6th once and 7th twice, quite a lot better than we have right now

Can anyone explain to me what’s so great about Kean? I just don’t see it. DCL looks to be a much better footballer currently and from what I’ve seen appears to have a higher ceiling as well?

I can't see Kean getting half that.

To be fair, he's a difficult act to follow.

I guess my point really is that the pressure on Kean is in part a result of our faltering start to the season. If DCL, Tosun etc were knocking em in then Kean would be allowed time to get to grips with our league.
