...the way he’s getting in the team is if he starts delivering. The way he’s getting in the team is if he shows he’s our best option. He’s not got much competition, no excuses, it really is up to him.

I agree that it’s up to him to force his way into the manager’s thinking. DCL and Richarlison have put down a marker and it’s up to him to push them.

....the major hope I have is actually Marcel Brands. From an individual player perspective, his signings have largely been good. Sidebe was a concern, but seems to have turned things around. Kean is now the one obvious disappointment (Delph arguably also disappointing given his previous injury record).

Just needs a run of games with a good midfield behind him. Applies with all strikers in all teams doesn't it? So, next season maybe....

I really don’t know what to make of the kid. Not like we’ve seen much of him is it? We hear the stuff about the ‘attitude’, I’m not dwelling on it but there do seem to be a few questions on this and not just from SouRness. playing wise, what I have seen of him is very raw and lots of improvement to make.

all said tho he’s a young lad in a new country, culture, trying to bed in and also actually mature as a footballer. Not his fault we all want (some actually expect!) him to be thy next ‘big’ thing and to have taken the league by storm. Equally not our fault that we are all desperate for a striker worthy of note and have placed some rather high expectations on this lad. I really hope he comes along with us, and those raw materials he possess can be coached and honed into a good player.

Let's just wait and see if he'll adjust to the massive pitch at Goodison Park and see if the next incoming manager can properly welcome him and man manage him on to great things.
