He’s our back up striker. We can’t afford patience when we’re trying to make strides in this league. We need a player who could come in and score goals consistently if DCL gets crocked.

I’d be more inclined to agree with giving him more time if his attitude and work rate wasn’t so poor.
Spurs are struggling to buy a back up striker. It’s hard to find a player who is capabable, and willing to sign up as a second choice striker.

Disagree.

Somebody like Josh King scored 1 in 3 for Bournemouth. Not saying he’s the player we should be looking at, but it’s an easy example of a much more productive player than Kean.

This narrative that you can’t possibly find a more productive player than Kean when we’ve just signed Rodriguez and are being managed by Ancelotti is nonsense, in my view.
Josh king? Why would he be better than kean?

Well, troy deeney is there if you fancy him?

Josh king isnt a valid option for us as he's just been relagated and had a poor season last year. He's also 29 in a few months and would be nothing more then a stop gap for the season so we would be stuck trying to get rid of a 30+ year old in a year or two on decent wages again.

Kean is also a 1 in 3 striker from starts. 6 starts 2 goals. The lad isn't tearing up trees off the bench but he is a 20 year old that's developing and good enough to get call ups to the full Italian international squad.

Only evertonions could have one of the highest rated young strikers in the world and want to get rid of him and bring in Josh king lol

Well you might think it's nonsense but im sure the managers in the premier league don't. Otherwise why has it taken spurs so long to get a proven back up to Kane?

King would round off an exceptional window and give us a lot of options for a relatively small outlay.

I don't see anything to suggest it's a possibility but I think he would be more accepting of limited game time than someone at twice or three times the fee and right now, would offer us a lot more than Kean does.

That said, if there is faith in Kean and he is happy to try and develop here, then he has a good set-up here to do so.

Jesus wept.

It’s like you’ve chosen to just deliberately ignore what I said just so you can argue about whether we should actually sign Josh King.

He was an off the cuff example to disprove the theory that you cannot find a proven player who will score goals from the bench in this league. I never said we should go and sign him specifically.

As for Kean being one of the “highest rated young strikers in the world”... lol

Kean has scored 1 goal every 420 minutes of Prem football. Past two seasons King has averaged 1 every 277 and that’s playing for Bournemouth.
Kean has been improving and scoring more towards end of last season and twice in the cup this season.

He was this time last year, like - well, when we signed him anyway.

For that reason, even though it's been tough, I hate the idea we just give up (on another one). Especially one that has already scored as many goals this season as he did all of last.

Personally, I think the first choice central fwd is dcl. The second choice would be richarlison moving into middle and one of our many wingers covering on the left.
Kean then plays bit part in prem league and cup games. Would be happy going into the season with that and allowing kean to develop.
