2020/21 Moise Kean

Never did he put in performances like a Vardy or an Ings have done whilst here. When he started the league cup games he had a poor first touch and obviously didn’t want to stay.

I was one of those who wanted it to work out and was willing him on but if he doesn’t want to be here then get top money for him.

I think the french league suits him better than premier league would although I did feel sorry for him at Old Trafford when Dunc hooked him off like that.

I’d have a different assessment mate, I think anytime he played I could see the talent, natural attributes and quality, I’m on record as saying it after every time he played, I don’t agree with lads at all who don’t think he’s a good player. But hey the place is all about opinions.

I’d accept it probably won’t be here mate, the writing is on the wall and I’m a pragmatist.

I think it’s more our failure then anything, I look at Lookman and Kean and think, what is wrong with us that we can’t make this work for the that obvious quality.

I agree the lad has all the talent, quality and natural attribute to be world class. He’s going to burst through 20 goals this season, strutting it in the CL at 20, we should be excited not resigned to selling him. It really just defies logic and a terrible indictment on us that we can’t make it work, it defies logic to be honest.

What’s wrong with us!
The only players I can remember think of are Stones and Rooney. Two precocious talents who left us too soon. You make a good point though. Everyone says Brands’ remit is to find the stars of the future so we don’t have to pay top dollar, but whatever reason the likes of Lookman, Vlasic, Kean et al won’t fulfil their potential with us. In saying that the same could be said of us spending big on established stars, Siguardisson, Gomes, Iwobi. The players all say about the welcoming, family atmosphere at the club, but it’s certainly not translated to performances on the pitch.

The lad has that Lineker instinct in the box. Gary made complicated instinctive movement in the box look effortless, he was always there, Moise’s got it to, both could get out in front of their man to.

Think the lad, is proving all who said he hasn’t shown much, exactly what they couldn’t see, whatever feelings about the French league, the dude is doing it in the CL, before we scoff at that with some random stat, we’d all kill to be there with Everton.

The lads a talent and a player, he’s going to burst through 20 goals this season at 20.

Then I hope PSG see that and throw some dosh at us.

It's never gonna happen here.

The issue is work ethics, Victor Anichebe was hardly a net buster but kept getting game time because he would bust a gut when on the pitch, same with James Vaughan when he wasn’t injured. DCL would have been turfed out by many fans long ago but for the fact he started turning his work rate into bagging which has seen him hit double figures in consecutive seasons

Lookman started off his time here well, but then started dropping off on the occasional sub appearances or starts, Vlasic looked awful on the occasion he was given a chance and never looked like forcing his way in. Kean looked alright in his first few cameos, unplayable when given a start against Newcastle when he finally scored but too many times he would stroll about or looked out of it/disinterested after a few minutes (hence why the subbed sub at Old Trafford)

Cos both threw titty lips about not getting game time over better players and decided not to stay. Both think they're better than Everton at a young age.

They may be. They maybe not. But if they don't want to play for us, get someone who does.

The lad has it!

If he comes back, he'll want to be a first choice and rightful so

His form for PSG is excellent and sadly for us, he isn't going to settle for the Carabao cup.

He'll likely try and stay with PSG or head back to Juventus but luckily for us with his current form and Euros this summer, his stock will high so I fully expect him to leave for €40/50m

When Vardy was Kean's age he was a Sheff Weds youth drop-out playing for Stocksbridge Park Steels at around level 9 or 10 in the football pyramid. That's Lower Breck / St.Helens Town level football.

When he signed for Leicester at around 23/24 his first season in the Championship went so poorly he had to be talked out of jacking in football completely and taking a job as a holiday rep pouring free shots out to groups of bladdered lads in Magaluf.

Would you play him ahead of DCL?

Couldn’t agree more. We’ve already got too many players within the first team squad, who don’t seem capable of a putting a shift in. It pains me to say it, you only have to look at the front 3 at the RS, their work rate off the ball is something our midfield could only dream about.

I think that’s a fair point, I don’t think anyone would say, Moise couldn’t do with coaching on the dirty side of the game. But again I go back to what you describe our love for the big hard working target man as a forward. We have to be open minded on different types, like Moise is. Again some players are never going to be strong on some aspects of the game, Moise is never going to be Drogba, but he can be something else that enigma and talent you make space for is a team, the Linekar, Vardy, Ings, who you know if you supply will produce. The lads 20, I don’t think we should wave the white flag in certainties of the flaws in his game at that age, especially when the opposite side is so talent laden.

We are doing something wrong, if we can’t nurture, develop and keep lads like Kean and Lookman. If I’m totally frank, I think we like the idea of big picture development, but then during a season we need results so badly these lads are just neglected and there is no pathway, rinse and repeat. Both will have left Everton and go on to be really good possibly great players we will regret leaving.

I look at this way, we’ve traded Lookman for Iwobi and probably Kean for King, I’m not sure we got the right of that player trading.
