I was very excited about his signing particularly given his profile - relatively expensive, top quality young talent. They have potential and time on their side, so even if it doesn't work out, you can make most of your money back or profit. Even see lower price/quality examples: Vlasic, Onyekuru, etc.

I'm also a fan of players who actually have substance over style... so even though he played like a donkey with us half the time, he did score some goals and has continued to with PSG.

Has anyone watched him for PSG to see how he's actually playing? Zero chance I'm ever watching a Ligue 1 match.

I wonder if he'll be able to actually keep up this scoring record in a competitive league without Mbappe alongside him. Looking at these goals.... there's a few great CF plays but there's also examples like goal 2 (36s in, open goal made by teammates), goal 3 (good header but WOW at that corner defending), goal 6 (open goal after GK saved from Neymar, etc.).... some of these won't be as easy to come by in the PL

....as far as we’re concerned, it’s now just a matter of how much we can get.

The most encouraging aspect is Brands identifying and acquiring him. Although it didn’t work out for us from a playing perspective, it provides hope Brands might find us another highly promising young striker who this time can do the business.

I do think people are overdoing it with giving credit to his creative play. Good strikers finish chances and are in the right spots. It is still a skill.

I wonder if they had one eye on this scenario playing out when we bought him? At least it shows they did the right thing in loaning him out at the right time to the right club.

....I doubt it. I imagine the hope/intention was for him to be an effective striker option for us.

Brands actually did well not including option to buy clause. I thought we’d struggle recouping our monies, Brands clearly believed the lad could be a success at PSG.

What, a 19 year old prospect on course for 15-20 goals for a super club. Getting games in champions league. Surely that type of player is almost priceless if owned by a super club. Maybe a starting bid of 90 million if you'd want them to raise an eyebrow and answer the phone.

But oh wait lil old Ev owns him.
