....I really don’t get this. Kean failed to earn game. Points are precious, you can’t play players who don’t deserve to play. Indeed, I reckon Gordon got more pitch time than Kean & there’s a reason for that. Posters continue to look for excuses and blame the club, but sometimes the failings are down to the player.

I don’t think PSG ’nurtured’ him, he’s had a positive impact there that he didn’t have here.

The psychology of a squad is not what we really get to see as as fans. At times we get a sense of personality, however, not to the point the manager and his team see and manage. Don't think any team can go out and buy anyone just by talent on the pitch.

I thought at the time it was a poor call but Ferguson was quite clear informing he was sent on with specific instructions but failed to follow them at a crucial stage in the game when we were in need of points. I got the impression Ancelotti didn’t trust him either (hence why he often brought Gordon on instead).

Sometimes you look for the youngster to roll up his sleeves & prove the manager wrong. It appears to be an issue with Kean & I don’t feel that incident is an excuse for his total lack of effectiveness here.

We were all so keen for him to do well.

...I think that’s a fair point, but it was a time when we were particularly bereft of effective back-up strikers. Ancelotti was on record as saying Gordon would find game time difficult because Richarlison was ahead of him but he still got more than Kean.

Don't claim to be a body language expert,but where Richarlison looks miserable because he isn't scoring,Keane just looked as if he wanted to be somewhere else. I get what you mean about wanting to play but he never showed enough to get a starting place up front.

Yeah he wasn't better than DCL I get that but it really is just being on the pitch that he needed

It's a while ago now but he seemed to be blowing like Del after about fifteen minutes. And even after looking at all the videos of him trapping the ball like he had it on a string at Juventus,his first touch here looked average at best. Bit of an enigma.

Out of the actual starts he did get he played quite well though, started 9 scored 4 with 2 assists. He needed a run in the team but was'nt ever going to get one.

Only two in the Prem though the majority against lower league opposition. I'd have loved him to make it here,but at least for once (or three) we should make a decent profit.
